Bennville Farm is located at the western edge of Haldimand county , a 30 minute drive south from Brantford or Hamilton, with the connection to major highways 403 and 401.
Originally a dairy farm, we purchased this place in 1981 after immigrating from Germany. Both our families have been farming back home for several generations but small acreage, high land prices and limited availability of land and no chance of expansion were the main reasons for us to come to Canada.
Our connection with the Limousin breed goes back to the early 1990's when we were approached by members of the Bundesverband Deutscher Limousinzuechter to help them connect with Limousin breeders in Ontario to find homo polled limousin cattle/embryos for export. After dispersing our Holstein herd in 1997 the reconnection with the limousin breed came as a natural for us.
What started as a few show heifers for the girls to use as 4H projects, slowly grew into a herd of 45 purebred cows.
We also started on farm bull testing and have taken part in the annual PIC bull sales for many years.
In 2013, due to health problems in the family we had to make some quick changes and decided to disperse a large part of our herd.
Today we are looking forward again.......well on our way to build up a quality herd on the foundation of our proven cow families.
Please feel free to check out our website for information on our cow families as well as herdsires used and young bulls on test.
We will have a selected group of 4H prospect calves for sale during the winter 2017/18 . More info and pics will follow.
Also a promising group of bull calves is going on test in November

A Tribute to Bennville Pina Colada AFA25P
We are very proud of having Pina Colada added to the CLA Elite Dam List. Her EPD's for weaning weight, milk and docility, combined with below average for birth weight and raising a calf each year for the last six years has earned her the honors.
Please feel free to check on Pina and her family (the Cayleys) under foundation cows, as we have currently 11 outstanding members of that family in our herd.
One proud step up for Pina. She has been awarded the Super Elite Dam status in 2017
